Tag Archive: Hearts and Minds

Behind-the-scenes “diary” of the shoot for the Hearts and Minds video. Seth and his small film-crew travelled across Dartmoor and up to Bath and Bristol playing ‘Hearts & Minds’ to unsuspecting members of the public, and dropping in on the odd folk club. You can read reports from the shoot from some of the fans who met them right here on this blog.

Update 2: and… It’s back!

Update 1, 3 Jul: the album has been removed from Spotify in what I hazard was a “no one told them the release date had changed” cock-up.

The official release isn’t for another three weeks, but you can already listen to the ‘standard’ version of the album , plus digital bonus track ‘Fire & Dirt’, on music-streaming service Spotify.

Hearts and Minds, the first single from Seth’s forthcoming fifth solo album of the same name, is now available to download from Amazon, Play, and 7Digital. The single release includes a ‘B’ side of the same track recorded live at The Minack, Cornwall, in May 2009.

Tiny World

The second single from the album, Tiny World, will be released on 12 July. Unlike Hearts and Minds, Tiny World has made it onto the Radio 2 daytime playlist from this week.

Hearts and Minds Single Out 20 June

Bonus Track: Signed & Sealed

Amazon have a bonus track, ‘Signed and Sealed‘, available as an MP3 download. It’s free if you pre-order either version of the album from them at the same time. See this post » for details.

Buy Signed and Sealed on Amazon You can now get a free bonus track, Signed and Sealed, when you pre-order Hearts & Minds from Amazon. Signed and Sealed will, we are reliably informed, NOT be on the final album tracklisting so this is a great chance to grab this bonus track for free.

To get the track, simply pre-order either the standard CD or deluxe CD+DVD of Hearts & Minds from Amazon, and add the MP3 of Signed and Sealed to your shopping cart at the same time. The cost of the MP3 will be taken off when you pay.

If you’ve already pre-ordered the album from Amazon you’ll need to cancel your previous order and then place a new one to get the free track. If you can’t be bothered or prefer not to order from Amazon you can still buy the MP3 of ‘Signed and Sealed’ for the standard price of 89p.

Seth has been on the road this week filming the video for new single, Hearts and Minds, and popping up in all sorts of unexpected places to play for the public.

So far eagle-eared spies have caught him playing for a couple of fishermen on Dartmoor, busking in Bristol, and joining in a local pub session in Clevedon.

Where will he be next? The video will chart a journey from Dartmoor to London, and will take in the gig at Komedia Bath this Friday. If you spot Seth, get a photo or – better – a video of one of the impromptu performances let us know via sethlakemanarchive@googlemail.com or tweet @SethLakemanNews

Monday: Dartmoor

Seth and Sean performing for a couple of fisherman (and, in one of life’s more bizarre coincidences, Yours Truly who really did just happen to be in the right place at the right time) at Burrator Reservoir on Dartmoor.

Wednesday: Busking in Bristol

The Bristol Culture blog among others were surprised to stumble across Seth and Benji Kirkpatrick busking in the city centre at lunchtime.

Wednesday: Clevedon Pub Session

Later that evening the pair were to be found in The Royal Oak pub in Clevedon, Avon, joining in a regular local music session. Folk Radio UK (who are playing tracks from the album this week on their Roots channel) responded to a friend’s urgent phone call and hoofed down there to bring in an exclusive report and photos.

Shed Songs (who film some amazing small acoustic sessions in a garden shed at www.songsfromtheshed.com) spotted him there as well:

The forthcoming single, Hearts and Minds, kicked off the weekly Mike Harding Folk & Acoustic show last night.

You can listen again on iPlayer until next Wednesday 19 May at www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/console/b00sbcn4
